PROVEN SUCCESS
Council Members Steve Uhring and Bruce Silverstein have consistently shown that the interests of Malibu residents comes firstElected in 2020 in the #1 and #2 spots by the voters, Bruce Silverstein and Steve Uhring have shown throughout their time on council, that the voices of residents are their priority.
From PCH safety to protecting our rural coastal environment, Silverstein and Uhring always put Malibu first.
Using a “Declaration of Local Emergency” proposed by Bruce, Steve initiated the long-term contract negotiations with California Highway Patrol to police traffic on PCH. Additionally, the city acquired immediate state funds from CalTrans and implementation of traffic safety measures.
Bruce and Steve voted to support three separate school-related measures: the school district separation from Santa Monica, the Independent Malibu School Bond Measure MM, and 600K in start-up funds to benefit Malibu schools’ fundraising program.
Bruce and Steve have fought to protect and preserve Malibu’s fragile environment. They strongly advocate for open space. They oppose unnecessary commercial development and other oversized projects that will forever alter Malibu’s rural character.
Bruce and Steve have always made themselves accessible to residents. They have worked consistently and conscientiously to further the residents’ interests over special interests. As a lawyer, Bruce brings over 35 years of legal experience to benefit the community. Steve brings invaluable business experience as well as serving as Planning Commissioner for four years.
